It's Book Review Time!

If you know anything about me, then you know that I like books. There are 5 books that I would like to recommend to you. :)

Everyone has at least heard of Pride & Prejudice, but have you read it? Jane Austen knows how to speak to a woman's soul. Maybe even a man could get something out of it. Just look at Mr. Darcy. Yes, he was a tad bit awkward in parts, but that's why I love him.
(Watch all the movie versions, but especially the 2005 one. Keira Knightly and Matthew Macfadyen were perfect to play Elizabeth & Mr. Darcy.)

When Light Breaks was written by Patti Callahan Henry. Don't worry, I had never heard of her either. When I was still in high school, one of my teachers told me www.alibris.com. (They have some really great deals on books & movies.) There was this one day when my mom had given me permission to buy a few books from there. I honestly have no idea how I came across this book. It is only 278 pages, but it seems so short. I can never put it down. Yes, I have read it several times. It is a romance novel, but it's definitely nothing like 50 Shades of Grey. THANK GOODNESS. The book mentions several stories that are supposedly from Irish Folklore. I should probably look them up to see if they are true. Regardless, this is one of my favorites.

Where do I even begin with Mindy Kaling? It all started with The Office. She made a wonderful Kelly Kapoor. It turns out that she helped write a lot of the episodes. Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? (And Other Concerns) is a book that makes you feel somewhat normal. The reader can actually relate to her. Not on her experience or anything, but on how she feels about a lot of situations. Or even how she reacts to them. Mindy is a normal, not so snotty, celebrity. I love her for it. If you just need a laugh, or something to take your mind off your own troubles, I highly suggest this book.

The Fault In Our Stars by John Green will have you crying into a pillow. That's no exaggeration. It rips your heart to shreds. At the end of the book, the reader has to somehow manage to put their own hearts back together again. I won't lie, I still cry thinking about some parts of the book. The movie comes out June 6, 2014. PLEASE READ THE BOOK BEFORE YOU SEE THE MOVIE. This is very important. John was on set a lot for the movie, and he even said that he cried through most of it. So please prepare yourself for an emotional roller coaster. Any book that he has written has been amazing. Paper Towns will always be my favorite, but it's not going to be a movie anytime soon.

During my Senior year of high school, my AP English teacher raved about how great The Book Thief was, but I just couldn't make myself read it. Death was the narrator and that threw up a red flag for me. I was already depressed that year anyway, why did I need to a read a story that Death was telling? So I didn't. It wasn't until a few months ago that I actually finished it. Markus Zusak did an amazing job writing this book. I never wanted to put that book down. Even after finishing it, I just wanted to hold it a little while longer. It's almost sacred. This book can also produce some tears. That's why I am afraid to see the movie in public. This movie is already out, but PLEASE READ THE BOOK AT SOME POINT. It deserves to be read.

What are some books that you would recommend?
